I love to work out, drink coffee, and read books. When I'm not doing those things, I'm thinking of all the ways I can change people's lives through health, fitness and nutrition. I also might be hiking or laying on the beach. Depends on the day, honestly.
By trade, I'm a writer. I'm a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Art in mass communication, emphasis on journalism. I'm also a personal trainer (ACE-certified), integrative nutrition health coach (IIN-certified), and CrossFit Level-1 trainer. My educational background, combined with my battle with disordered eating, led me to build my freelance writing business: It's my vessel to spread the truth about health and fitness.
After developing a love for the great outdoors, I started writing in the travel space. My work has been primarily inspired by the many cross-country road trips I've taken in the last few years, as well as countless day trips to Southern and Central California's best natural attractions. More recently, I established some roots in South Florida, which I've loved exploring so far.
I'm an introvert, but you might not guess it when you first meet me. When we become best friends, you'll learn: I prefer a night in with a good book and snacks to a night out, almost always — but I'll leave my couch for special occasions, like stargazing, and the off-chance I'm feeling extra energetic.
I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up right across Lake Pontchartrain in the fast-growing town of Slidell. As a Louisiana native, you best believe I love good food and a good time. I also adore football (specifically my alma mater team: LSU), doing anything outdoors, and exploring new cities. I've lived in beautiful, sunny Southern California and intend on exploring the U.S. as much as I possible can. I'm a nomad at heart and believe every inch of this earth should be cherished and explored.
I believe in holistic health and I encourage everyone to find their "best healthy." That simply means finding a fitness and nutrition regimen that makes you feel empowered and is one you can stick to. For me, that means consistency in my diet (a lot of scrambled eggs, tacos, and paninis) and varied workouts. Most of my workouts are geared toward endurance training. I used to run cross country and still love endurance events such as half-marathons and adventure races. I also dabble in CrossFit, traditional hypertrophy training, and Olympic lifting — whatever I'm feeling on any given day. Movement is movement, no matter how you do it, and that's the philosophy that guides my work.
